CANCER DRIVE 27 KIDS CARING FOR KIDS: REMEMBERING LAURA COTESTA
Lockerby began the 2022-2023 school year with full in-person learning. Cancer Drive could return to its familiar October date. Enthusiasm was high as students anticipated reaching the LCS Cancer Drive cumulative total $1 million – the result of 27 years of “Kids Caring for Kids.”

Fundraising Activities:
Tony V’s: Cancer Committee Members served customers in the cause of raising funds for paediatric care her in the North. A total of $2,592 was raised!

In-school ice-bucket challenge
Students and staff pooled money to see these teacher volunteers take the plunge for the cancer cause. Thanks to Ms. Czerniak, Mme Stanyon, Mr. Tessier, and Mr. Lafraniere, another $400 was raised for paediatric cancer care.
Lockerby students, staff members, and volunteers canvassed the Sudbury community – and Sudburians continued their generous giving to the 27th Lockerby Cancer Drive.
On the 27th day of its 27th year, the Viking Community raised $27,000 for paediatric cancer care here in the North. Lockerby students surpassed $1 million, 27 years of “Kids Caring for Kids.”
